About KHTI

The Karnataka Handloom Technology Institute which was started in the year 1994 under state sector is working under department of Handloom &Textiles. It is the only institute in Karnataka offering Diploma course in Handloom and Textile Technology following the curriculum or Indian Institute of Handloom Technology.

This institute is functioning under the administrative control of the Commissioner for Textile Development and Director of Handloom & Textiles Government of Karnataka.

The students from southern states namely Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Goa & Pondichery study at this institute.

LOCATION :

Karnataka Handloom Technology Institute, Narasapur, Gadag, is situated on the out skirts of Gadag-Betageri town on the way to Ron and is surrounded by lush green and serene atmosphere. It spreads over a sprawling area of 8.3 acres.

1. To Produce Technocrats for Textile Industry
2. To Undertake experimental and research programmes
3. To Lay down highest possible technical standard of training for the Handloom Industry and to devise short term and long term training programmes for technical personnel to be employed in the handloom sector
4. To devise channels of service in order to built-up the closest possible binding between Institutes and Handloom production units

   Our mission is to cater high quality technical and managerial man power for the handloom and Textile industry and to undertake Research and Development programmes for its sustainable growth and maintain close liaison with the industry so as to enable it to face technological and environmental global changes.
